The studies were carried out on Salix viminalis planted for energy production purposes at Field Experimental Station in Winna Góra near Poznań. Over three growing seasons (2008–2010) 1 318 individuals of leafhoppers and planthoppers, belonging to 31 species were collected by sweep net method. Most common in collected material were leafhoppers of the genus Empoasca (77.48% of total). The numbers of species and specimens decreased with the age of cultivation.
