The samples of 300 faeces derived from the dogs suspected of canine parvovirosis were tested by the haemagglutination and haemagglutination-inhibition tests according to Carmichael. Out of the samples which had a titre of 4096 ten samples were taken at random to propagate CPV-2 in a continuous FC line of cells. After 72 hours the inoculated cells were examined by the direct immunofluorescent test using a labelled antibody against feline panleukopenia virus. A specific immunofluorescence was detected in cells inoculated with these samples. The specificity of the test was confirmed by blocking of the IF test by means of antibodies against CPV-2 virus.
