Droga wodna Wisła – Odra i jej wpływ na rozwój regionów

Droga wodna Wisła – Odra w europejskim systemie dróg wodnych stanowi istotne znaczenie. W swojej historii odgrywała ważną rolę w transporcie wodnym w żegludze międzynarodowej jak i krajowej. Pod koniec XX wieku nastąpiła jej degradacja co znacznie ograniczyło możliwość jej wykorzystania. Wejście Polski do Unii Europejskiej dało inne spojrzenie samorządom na rzeki i stworzyło warunki wykorzystania dróg wodnych, w zakresie turystycznym, transportowym i rekreacyjnym. Podjęto działania w celu przywrócenia żeglugi. W artykule scharakteryzowano drogę wodną Wisła – Odra w aspekcie dróg wodnych Polski oraz jej połączenie z systemem międzynarodowym. Przedstawiono rezultaty działań samorządów w zakresie zmiany infrastruktury nadrzecznej, inicjatyw promujących, stwarzających podstawy do turystycznego i w dalszej perspektywie transportowego wykorzystania tej drogi wodnej.

Waterway Vistula - Oder in the European system of waterways is essential. Throughout its history, mattered an important role in water transport in international and domestic shipping. At the end of the twentieth century was its degradation which significantly reduced the possibility of its use. Polish accession to the European Union gave the local governments a different perspective on the river and created the conditions for the use of waterways in the field of tourism, transport and recreation. Efforts have been made to restore the navigation. The article describes the waterway Vistula - Oder characterization in the aspect of Polish waterways and its connection to the international system. The results of operations of local governments in terms of changes in riverside infrastructure, initiatives to promote, creating a basis for tourism and beyond transport to use this waterway is presented.
