The paper presents the construction and chosen test results of multi-pole low speed generators with permanent magnets destined to gearless wind plant with vertical axis or water turbine. Thanks to unique patented construction of its magnetic circuit, the generators have very low cogging torque despite of many poles. The paper contains images of generators, measuring results of cogging torque, idle running characteristic, and the measurements of the influence of the load on the voltage produced by the generators. The generators are destined to wind turbine H Darius, it can also be useful in water plants.
