Proces termomodernizacji budynku poprzedzony jest opracowaniem audytu energetycznego wskazującego najbardziej optymalne rozwiązanie, przy którym osiągnięte zostaną określone efekty energetyczne i ekologiczne. Na podstawie określonych efektów inwestor może starać się o dofinansowanie inwestycji z funduszy strukturalnych UE. Po zakończeniu prac związanych z termomodernizacją budynku przeprowadzono analizę efektów i porównano je z założonymi.
