Lekkie kruszywa spiekane z dodatkiem surowców odpadowych
Czwartym pod względem ilości odpadem masowym w Polsce jest popiół lotny z energetyki zawodowej. Znajduje on szerokie zastosowanie, m.in. w budownictwie komunikacyjnym. Znane są sposoby wykorzystania go do produkcji kruszyw spiekanych.
The results of research on aggregate made of raw material mass with an addition of clay, sewage sludge and fly ash from a heat and power generating plant are presented. Municipal sewage sludge is an unavoidable by-product of wastewater treatment. In contrast to ash, sewage sludge contains a high quantity of organic matter. It can be used as an expanding additive ceramic sinters. The impact of sewage sludge on expanding of ceramic sinters was examined by high temperature microscope. The experiment included testing of sludge and ash sinters with clay addition of a variable mass proportion of its constituents (0-40% d.m.). These mixtures were baked in a laboratory furnace. The aim of the research included was the evaluation of texture and water absorption of sinters as well as exploring the possibility of using waste as raw materials in lightweight sintered aggregates production. The sinters with an addition of sewage sludge and fly ashes presented a high porosity texture in contrast to clay sinters. The effect of waste mass proportion on water absorption was minor. The results show the new direction of sintered aggregates produce from waste materials. The aggregates have high porosity and very low density features.
