Niniejsza wypowiedź stanowi podsumowanie Ogólnopolskiej Konferencji Naukowej „Ochrona dziedzictwa architektury i urbanistyki II połowy XX wieku”. Uczestnicy konferencji w swoich wypowiedziach zwrócili uwagę na fakt, że zasób dziedzictwa architektury i urbanistyki II połowy XX wieku w Polsce jest tyleż obszerny, co zróżnicowany, dlatego ochrona tego zasobu tak pod względem zakresu, jak i możliwej do zastosowania formy i metody wymaga kompetentnej, wszechstronnej i rozważnej oceny, tak aby niezbędna selekcja pozwoliła zachować obiekty i zespoły najcenniejsze, których zachowanie leży w interesie społecznym ze względu na posiadaną wartość historyczną, artystyczną lub naukową.

This article is a summary of the National Conference “Protection of the heritage of architecture and urban planning of the 2nd half of the 20th century”. Conference participants in their speeches drew attention to the fact that the heritage of architecture and urban planning of the 2nd half of the 20th century in Poland is both vast and diverse, therefore protecting it both regarding the range and applicable form and method will require competent, thorough and prudent assessment, so that the necessary selection would allow for protecting the most valuable objects and complexes whose preservation is in the public interest because of their historic, artistic or scientific value.
