The author of the article presents his observations concerning the state air security, especially focusing on the considerations with respect to the subsystem of a state’s air security being the element of a wider national security system. He submits the classification of challenges to the state’s air security, simultaneously identifying types of air threats. While taking into account an influence of environmental threats, he proposes the state's air security system’s definition, exposing its values and possibilities of application. Finally, he presents a synthetic summary of Polish Armed Forces’ endeavors in connection with the development of the state’s air security system, indicating possible directions of the future improvement.
