Koncepcje i realizacja odbudowy gospodarczej Iraku ze zniszczeń wojennych

The political-military and economical reality of the contemporary world in the first years of the 21st century shows the necessity to solve many important problems caused by civilisation challenges. We can observe many political-military and economical conflicts. One of them is the Iraqi conflict. Its negative result is the significant destruction of the Iraqi economy. While in the beginning of the eighties of the 20th century Iraq dominated in the Arabic world with respect to the development of education, healthcare and economical modernisation, the war with Iran (1980-88), invasion into Kuwait in 1990 and sanctions introduced after this act of aggression, and the consequences of the “Desert Storm” operation, as well as the destruction being in effect of the conflict of 2003 onwards, have taken back this country to the "preindustrial age". The return to the development of Iraq as well as economical reconstruction is determined by democratic changes. Despite the lack of stabilisation in Iraq, concepts of economy reconstruction are being formulated. The aim of the article is to identify and analyse concepts of rebuilding the Iraqi economy from war destruction. Both national and American conceptions are being discussed as well as United Nations plans of reconstructing the country by the international community. Their effectiveness was judged by the possibility of their realisation, while taking into consideration also the existing barriers and threats.
