Analysis of the Impact of the Drive Wheel on the Soil Using the Finite Element Method
This paper presents an analysis of the propagation of stresses in a given soil medium determined with the use of the method of digital modeling and FEM calculations. A digital model of interaction between the drive wheel and the ground has been prepared. The model was exposed to the force of gravity and the torque, thus simulating the impact of traction forces on the propagation of stresses in the soil medium. The value of the force of gravity and the torque assumed in the modeling process and calculations was the same as in laboratory studies.Calculation of the propagation of soil stresses of the drive wheel was performed using FEM. Processed results of a numerical an alysis were compared with the obtained results in laboratory studies, carried out in a soil channel and positively verified.
