Simulation Studies on Material-Flow in Warehouse Based on Probability Distribution

The paper presents an attempt to apply the simulation model into research of the dynamic aspects of the material-flow in warehouse. It is done to consider different types of probability distribution in case of material-flow incoming on entry to a warehouse. Tools and various stages of the simulation research procedure, developed by the author of the paper, are discussed. Construction and usage of the simulation model are described. The paper gives results and summary based on the chosen simulation outputs and it also contains suggestions for further consideration of the issues. In results and discussion section it is considered whether chosen probability distributions could be implemented and used in the warehouse designing method. It is researched due to the fact that in most of warehouse designing methods it is assumed to calculate one average value of material-flow incoming to the warehouse. A simulation model can answer the question whether it is a proper assumption or not.

W pracy przedstawiono próbę zastosowania modelu symulacyjnego do badania aspektów dynamiki przepływu materiałów w magazynie. Badania przeprowadzono wziąwszy pod uwagę różne typy rozkładu prawdopodobieństwa w przypadku przepływu materiałów mającego źródło na wejściu do magazynu. W artykule omówione są narzędzia i etapy postępowania badawczego, opracowane przez autora. Przedstawione są rezultaty i zawarte jest podsumowanie oparte na wybranych wynikach symulacji, a także zawarte są sugestie dotyczące dalszego rozpatrywania wzmiankowanej kwestii. W sekcji końcowej artykułu rozważa się, czy rozpatrywany rozkład prawdopodobieństwa może być wykorzystany w ramach metody projektowania magazynów. Zagadnienie jest badane ze względu na fakt, że w większości metod projektowania magazynów przyjmuje się do obliczeń przeciętną wartość przepływu materiałów wchodzącego do magazynu. Model symulacyjny może odpowiedzieć na pytanie, czy jest to założenie właściwe, czy nie.
