Projektu rozbudowy sieci gazowej New Jersey - Nowy Jork wymagał zaangażowania bardzo dużej ilości sprzętu, w tym użycia dziesięciu wiertnic HDD klasy 5000 kN (czasami równocześnie w kilku miejscach), ponad 30 pomp płuczkowych, 20 kompletnych systemów nawigacyjnych oraz ponad 16 km przewodu wiertniczego.

Everything about the New Jersey-New York Expansion Project is massive and complex. From the initial design to the re-design to the amount of equipment assembled to the actual pipeline installation, this project had the makings of an once-in-a-lifetime horizontal directional drilling (HDD) performance. It involved an expansion of Spectra Energy’s Texas Eastern Transmission and Algonguin Gas Transmission pipeline systems to deliver new, critically needed natural gas supplies to the New Jersey and New York areas, including Manhattan - the first high-pressure natural gas pipeline in New York City in four decades.
