Function Modeling of a Rescue Capsule for Casualties Evacuation Using a Strategic Game as an Alternative Verification Method
This paper shows an alternative approach to the verification of the project’s preliminary assumptions. In some cases, using standard procedure for verification of the project’s fore design stays in contradiction to the time and costs saving. Authors propose a strategic game as a simulation tool for revision of the project’s assumptions. The game is presented on an example of the modular rescue capsule for a bituminous coal mine environment. Equipping rescuers with a rescue capsule system increases their capabilities. It enlarges the amount of actions they can perform, makes a transportation easier and allows to monitor casualty’s condition far earlier than nowadays. It drastically increases chances for survival under the ground. By using the medical module described in the article, a faster diagnosis of a person will be possible. Moreover, a casualty will be transported in better conditions. The strategic game shown in this paper was verified by future users of the rescue system. The simulation itself, in a form of a strategic game, turned out to be a very good tool. In situations such as the one described in the text, when designers deal with a very complicated and multilevel problem, the game is an easy way out. What is more, it provides reliable results and great time and money savings during designing process.
