Local databases of road traffic accidents as a source of information for the geographical research - on the example of Cracow

This article presents the possibility database of road traffic accidents can be used in geographical research. The dataset utilized in this study was obtained from the Management of Municipal Infrastructure and Transport in Cracow. The quality of selected information was assessed in order to examine these elements that could be useful in obtaining accident localizations. This problem was investigated both in the city-scale and for particular roads. The data about road accident were comparatively analyzed for 1998 and 2008.
