Pakiety sprasowanych zużytych opon samochodowych w budownictwie komunikacyjnym. Badania i zastosowania

The paper reviews the application and results of selected research carried out within the R&D project „ReUse – Innovative Recycling Materials Enhancing the Durability of Bridge Structures” (Innotech no K3/IN3/38/228116/NCBiR/15). The aim of the project is to develop and implement an innovative, cheap and environmentally-friendly recycled construction material in the form of tyre bales made from compressed used car tyres. The new material is cost-effective and has unique properties that technically and economically allow it to replace natural aggregates. The use of bales made from compressed used car tyres can be in many cases an alternative for expensive ground improvement in the construction of communication infrastructure facilities on weak ground.
