Determinants of industrial enterprises’ decisions in relation to maintaining own-account transport in the light of research

Despite the overall growth trend of road transport, what can be seen is the general economic decrease of participation of own-account transport in this sector of transport. At present, a rich and varied offer of transport service companies is adjusted to needs of industrial companies. Despite the downward trend in transporting goods using own-account transport, its significant participation in road transport proves of appropriateness of its functioning in the transport system of a given country. Price of services determines the choice of an external company to handle transport aspects. In accordance with the global trend of outsourcing services, industrial enterprises in Poland will depart from maintaining own-account transport. Decisions in this regard will be dictated by an economic analysis, which goal is to indicate whether the choice of a transport service will reduce costs in a company.
