Maxwell Stress Tensor in Coaxial High Voltage Cable
The paper describes Maxwell stress tensor in a coaxial cable of high voltage. The model of an infinitely long conductor with a fixed effective current has been used. Here, in the conductor, electromagnetic field intensity as well as the components of Maxwell stress tensor are determined in all layers of the cable. The paper concentrates also on the adaptation of the strength hypothesis in magnetoelasticity. Complex stress states have been shown in the form of reduced stresses in accordance with two failure criteria of T. M. Huber and Tresca – Guest and presented in the form of 3D graphs in Mathematica by Wolfram Research Inc.
