Społeczna percepcja zmian klimatycznych w Polsce

Artykuł dotyczy zmian klimatycznych zauważalnych w Polsce, będących skutkiem zwiększonej emisji CO2 do atmosfery. W artykule wykorzystano dane dotyczące badań opinii publicznej przeprowadzonych przez CBOS i Pentor i przeprowadzonego na przełomie kwietnia i maja 2008 własnego sondażu dotyczącego zmian klimatycznych na losowo dobranej grupie stu respondentów w województwie śląskim Według przeprowadzonych badań, świadomość społeczna zmian klimatycznych w Polsce jest powszechna, co stanowi pierwszy, niezbędny krok, aby móc im skutecznie zapobiegać. Większość respondentów wyraziła także chęć podjęcia pewnych działań (na przykład oszczędzanie energii elektrycznej) w celu ochrony klimatu.

Poland’s climate changes slowly but perceptibly and CO2 emission is the main documented cause of the observed climate transformation which will have an ever greater influence on the country’s economy and everyday life. Water economy and coastal protection, biodiversity, agriculture and health protection areareas which are the most exposed to risks generated by climate changes in Poland. Public feelings and attitudes are of significance for efficient prevention of climate changes. In addition, future directions of action plans undertaken by particular national governments depend on social preferences. According to research which was carried out, social awareness of climate changes in Poland is widespread. This is the first necessary step in effective climate change control. Majority of the respondents also expressed the will to undertake certain actions (e.g. saving electric energy, use of energy-saving appliances) aiming at climate protection. Respondents also confirmed that in Poland, global warming is an important element of public debate. Actions actually undertaken for climate protection were assessed negatively. Only one person stated that they were sufficient.
