Krakowskie budynki szkolne i uniwersyteckie w latach 1850-1857. Architekci wobec zabytków
During the reconstruction period following the fire of Cracow in 1850, that is during the peak in housing construction, major civil engineering works were also undertaken. The main investor was the university (supported by government subsidies). The projects and works on the historic university buildings created, in the middle of 19th century, a school of styles and conservation methods which were followed, not only by several successive constructors of academic buildings (Karol Kremer, Pawet Barański, Tomasz Majewski), but also by many younger architects co-operating with them, who were usually employed in the Cracow offices of building works (Feliks Księżarski, Jan Stróżecki, Aleksander Gebauer, Gołuchowski, Antoni Łuszczkiewicz, Kukalski, Antoni Stacherski and the unknown S. Kamalski and Warzycki).
