The study presents selected results of the examinations of the properties and microstructure of weld overlays built up with the UTOP38, F-812 and F-818 welding wires on a substrate of the 42CrMo4 structural steel. Among others, the following investigations were carried out: bend tests, hardness measurements and determination of ferrite content in a bainitic-martensitic microstructure of UTOP38 and F-812 layers.
