Krajowy System Informacji Geograficznej jako komponent wsparcia działalności struktur państwa w geoinformację

The Geoinformation Systems (SIG) have a lot of essential applications, for example in building and keeping spatial and ecological order, satisfying citizen’s and institutions’ needs for information, in crisis managing supporting. To use it fully, it is necessary to develop the appropriate infrastructure of spatial data aside from building spatial databases. The author describes the undertaking in the range of building up the National Geographic Information System (KSIG) as a national register, created on three levels: national, provincial and a lower Polish administrative unit. Presented assumptions concern building and leading the National Geographic Information System, they will be run in a decree to a new act “Geodesy and Cartography Law" and they will make the interpretation of law in this range.
