Kwalifikacja danej konstrukcji tymczasowej do grupy rusztowań lub konstrukcji podporowych deskowań implikuje konieczność spełnienia odmiennych wymagań prawnych. The paper describes definitions of scaffoldings found in Polish and European legal acts as well as in technical standards. The qualification of temporary work equipment to the group of scaffoldings or to the falsework that support formwork implies different legal requirements. Various applications of temporary structures used on the building site and their terminology are discussed. The basic legal requirements for structures made of scaffolding elements are summarized against the background of current technical standard conditions.
