Celem referatu jest krótkie scharakteryzowanie współcześnie realizowanej polityki ekologicznej Wspólnoty, ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem tych jej aspektów, które uwzględniać musi w swojej działalności górnictwo naftowe. Na tle współczesnych zagrożeń ekologicznych, omówiono aktualną strategię Wspólnoty, dotyczącą zrównoważonego rozwoju oraz Szósty Wspólnotowy Program Ochrony Środowiska i towarzyszące mu strategie tematyczne.

The aim of the paper is to highlight present ecological policy of European Community with special attention paid to the aspects important for oil and gas exploration and production industry. The goals and actions of renewed EU Sustainable Development Strategy, The Sixth Environment Action Programme of the European Community 2002-2012 and its thematic strategies are shortly described in connection with ecological threats.
