In the paper the methods of numerical approximation of the land surface are presented. The investigations prove that the methods of approximation which involve correlation between the terrain points having essential significance are presented also problem of estimation of the accuracy of approximation of the land surface and results of the investigation of accuracy of approximation of the land surface in the aspect of the digital computer models examination The use of DTM methods allows fast incorporation of the data into the spatial information Systems (LIS/GIS) and their wide application for the civil and environmental engineering.
