Policentryczność obszaru metropolitalnego jako kontekst programu rewitalizacji śródmieścia Katowic

Artykuł rozwija problematykę urbanistyczną poruszaną w trakcie dyskusji nad delimitacją obszaru centrum aglomeracji górnośląskiej oraz zagadnieniem jej przekształceń przestrzennych. Autor przedstawia interpretację policentryczności struktury metropolitalnej, odwołując się do pojęć centrum miejskiego i metropolitalnego. Poszukuje związku pomiędzy zmianami zachodzącymi w skali metropolitalnej oraz programem interwencji projektowej, którego przedmiotem jest obszar śródmiejski Katowic.

This paper covers an urban issue arising from the debate of the delimitation of the core of the Upper silesian agglomeration and the question of its spatial transformation. The author presents an interpretation of polycentric metropolitan structure by recalling the ideas of a urban and metropolitan centers. In this paper the author seeks the link between the changes that are taking place at the metropolitan scale and a project relating to the inner city area of Katowice.
