The article presents the major types of hazards that can be caused by chemical used during cultivation, transport, processing phase of textile raw materials and in finishing processes. Acceptable criteria are presentd for a number of key indicators, resukting from the requirements of legal or normative documents. The data contained in the article can provide information base for textile manufactures, importers and average users.
