Application of smart metering systems for energy losses assessment and forecasting in distribution systems

This paper presents a proper methodology for assessing and forecasting the active energy losses in LV distribution networks, based on the real measurements, provided by smart meters. The proposed methodology uses a characteristic load profile estimation based on knowledge data discover (KDD) approach and daily energy. The results are comparable with the real case, that use the energy profile from smart meters.
