Transport żywych zwierząt podlega licznym i bardzo rygorystycznym wymaganiom technicznym i prawnym. Dla zwierząt transport może być źródłem stresu i urazów dlatego też na każdym etapie transportu należy zwierzęciu zapewnić dobrostan. W artykule przedstawiono i opisano najważniejsze regulacje prawne dotyczące transportu zwierząt rzeźnych obowiązujące w Unii Europejskiej i w Polsce. W drugiej części artykułu zostały scharakteryzowane wymagania techniczne dla środków transportujących zwierzęta rzeźne.

The transport of live animals is subject to numerous and very strict technical and legal requirements. For animals, transport can be a source of stress and injuries and therefore animal welfare should be ensured at every stage of transport. The article presents and describes the most important legal regulations regarding the transportation of slaughter in the European Union and in Poland. In the second part of the article, technical requirements for means of transport slaughter animals were characterized.
