The purpose of this article is to analyze the role and the place of large retail establishment in supply chain management. The authors discussed business supporting systems which are used in large retail establishment. In the next part they presented the most popular models of supply chain management. In the last part of the article the authors analyzed the influence of transport and storage on the large retail establishment.
