Analiza systemowa rozwoju społeczeństwa informacyjnego

To live and act in the modem world means to take use of Information. This statement contains the sense of social, economic, political and educational transformations. The man engaged in various social processes, playing different social roles undergoes the stream of different information since the earliest moments of their life. Contemporary society, the state - its administration, education, science, culture, national economy and armed forces - cannot function effectively without rationally developed information zone. An analysis of closer and further “information revolution” results requires adopting a systemic attitude towards social transformations and applying methods of system analysis and engineering. The author lists constitutive characteristics of information society in order to proceed to systemic analysis to present the vision of this society development. He assumes three possible variants of information society: dispersed, integrated and humanistic ones. In the final part of the article the author describes the Polish road to a European information society.
