The complexity of the decision-making process in the selection of colors facades on the example of the reconstruction and renovation of the Branicki Palace in Warsaw. Reconstruction vs. creation

The decision-making with regard to the selection of colors in the reconstruction of historic buildings is a complex process. Despite the well-established practice of conducting opencast research and using its results, the results of this research cannot be directly translated into a decision to use one or another color on the facade of a building. Getting up or reconstructing an architectural object, including decisions about its colors, are the result of multi-person decisions taken by a team of persons. The article presents the results and methodology of conservation research on the color scheme of the Branicki Palace in Warsaw and the clash of the results of these studies with the practical decision-making process involving the monument preservation authorities and the investor.

Podejmowanie decyzji odnośnie doboru kolorystyki w rekonstrukcji obiektów zabytkowych jest złożonym procesem. Pomimo ugruntowanej praktyki prowadzenia badań odkrywkowych i wykorzystywania ich wyników, wyników tych badań nie można bezpośrednio przełożyć na decyzję o zastosowaniu takiego czy innego koloru na elewacji budynku. Powstawanie lub rekonstrukcja obiektu architektonicznego, w tym decyzje o jego kolorystyce, są wynikiem wieloosobowych decyzji podejmowanych przez zespół osób. W artykule przedstawiono wyniki i metodykę badań konserwatorskich nad kolorystyką Pałacu Branickich w Warszawie oraz zderzenie wyników tych badań z praktycznym procesem decyzyjnym z udziałem służb konserwatorskich i inwestora.
