W publikacji przybliżono istotę żeglugi śródlądowej oraz logistyki miejskiej. Wytypowane zostały główne wady i zalety żeglugi śródlądowej. Scharakteryzowana została rzeka Odra, na której odbywa się transport rzeczny. Zostało opisane znaczenie jakie pełni w skali kraju transport na rzece Odrze. Część badawcza zawiera opis infrastruktury rzeki Odry na terenie Polski. Opisano utrudnienia na każdym odcinku Odry. Niestety jest to branża transportu bardzo niedoceniania, z tego mało dofinansowywana i eksploatowana.

In the publication a being of the inland waterway shipping and the urban logistics was moved closer. A main advantages and disadvantages of the inland waterway shipping was marked out. A river was characterised the Oder, on which the river transport takes place. A described significance in the scale of the country a transport is performing which on the river stayed for the Oder. The research part contains the description of the infrastructure of the river of the Oder in Poland. Difficulties in each section of the Odra have been described.Unfortunately it is industry of the transport very of misprision, from it little funded partially and exploited.
