One showed that these changes were significant in the case of heat transport in the perpendicular direction to the plane of microcracks when the cracks were filled by air (Fig. 3). The effect has potentially serious possibilities in non-invasive diagnostics of engineering brittle materials and elements of structures by means of thermal measurements.
