Intensity of biocorrosion on the surface of plasters made on EPS substrate

One of the most common solutions for insulating the exterior walls of buildings is the ETICS (External Thermal Insulation Composite System), based on polystyrene. The durability of such a systemis estimated at 25 years, but very often a degradation process of varying severity is observed after just a few years. The article deals with the changes occurring on thin-film plasters after prolonged exposure to the external environment in different orientations with respect to the world's sides and the resulting biocorrosion infestation.
