Najbardziej popularnym systemem zarządzania zarówno w Polsce, jak i w Europie jest system zarządzania jakością (SZJ) bazujący na międzynarodowej normie ISO 9001. Ideą tego systemu jest stałe doskonalenie zachodzących w organizacji procesów oraz stałe dążenie do zaspokajania wymagań klientów. Niniejszy artykuł ma na celu zaprezentowanie zintegrowanego systemu zarządzania Instytutu Techniki Górniczej KOMAG, jako skutecznego i efektywnego narzędzia warunkującego osiągnięcie przewagi konkurencyjnej. W artykule opisano najistotniejsze czynniki wpływające na doskonalenie systemu, takie jak audity, działania korygujące i zapobiegawcze, przeglądy kierownictwa, opinie klientów.

Quality management system based on the international ISO 9001 Standard is the most popular management system both in Poland and in Europe. Permanent improvement of processes, which take place in an organization, and permanent aiming at meeting the requirements of customers are the idea of the system. The paper ' aims at presentation of integrated management system of the KOMAG Institute of Mining Technology as efficient and effective tool for being competitive. Most important factors, which have impact on improvement of the system, such as audits, correction and prevention measures, inspections and opinions of customers, were described in the paper.
