The paper introduced the history, current situation and development trend of coal processing industry in China. The development of modern coal processing industry in China has passed its three stages: from foundation of the People's Republic of China to early 1980s is the establishment stage; from the beginning of eighties to middle of the 1990s is its fast developing stage; from the middle 1990s to the beginning of 21st century is its operating mechanism reform and the new techniques and technology developing stage. The paper also introduced equipments and technology applicated in China's coal processing industry, the large-scale coal processing equipments designing and manufacturing, scientific research and education, the problems and development strategy of China's coal processing industry.
