Elements of the theory of seed separation on a stationary conical surface under the influence of air stream

A theoretical analysis was made of the possibility of seed mixture separation on a stationary conical surface, making use of air stream. A system of equations describing the motion of sliding and rolling seeds on the inner surface of a cone whose vertex points downwards was formulated.The research showed that the range of motion trajectories of seeds depended on their shape, the velocity of air stream and the value of the vertical angle of a cone. The motion paths were drawn for certain values of wheat and vetch seeds which left the cone surface.

Przeprowadzono teoretyczne rozważania nad możliwością separacji mieszaniny ziarnistej na nieruchomej powierzchni stożkowej z wykorzystaniem strumienia powietrza. Sformułowano układ równań opisujących ruch nasiona ślizgającego się i toczonego po wewnętrznej powierzchni odwróconego stożka. Rozważania wykazały, że zasięg trajektorii lotu nasion zależy od ich kształtu, prędkości strumienia powietrza i wartości kąta wierzchołkowego stożka. Dla określonych wartości ziarna pszenicy i nasiona wyki wykreślono tory lotu, po opuszczeniu przez nie stożka.
