The article is therefore an indication of the changes in the new edition of the PN-EN ISO/IEC 17021:2011 (ISO/IEC 17021:2011) in the context of improvement in the management system certification process. For some time there have been discussing needed changes in the certification process of the management systems to improve its reliability and application of the ethical action in the certificated market. Opposite to these expectations a new edition of the standard PN-EN ISO/IEC 17021:2011 has been extended out. This standard lays on particular emphasis on the requirements for the management systems certification bodies in the criteria of the personnel competence involved in managing and conducting audits and certification process, including identification of the so-called technical areas. It also makes other changes that can improve the process of the management system certification.
