The paper presents two quality management solutions, i.e. Six Sigma and Poka-yoke. The authors show that the effects reached with poka-yoke match the economic objectives of Six Sigma implementation. Those include three areas of cost reduction: (1) savings reached thanks enhanced quality (2) lower resource engagement thanks to shorter production cycle, and (3) cost reduction through higher product reliability.
