W artykule przedstawiono wpływ standaryzacji europejskiego systemu kolejowego i unijnych programów infrastrukturalnych na konkurencyjność transportu kolejowego w Europie. Przybliżono także aktualny stan prawny w zakresie specyfikacji TSI dla kolei dużych prędkości i kolei konwencjonalnych. Opisano główne kierunki działań, podjęte dla poprawy stanu infrastruktury kolejowej.

The influence of European railway system normalization and infrastructure programs on competitiveness of railway transport in Europe have been presented in the paper. The present legal condition in the field of TSI specifications for high speed railways and conventional railways have been mentioned. The general directions of activities undertaken to improve the state of railway infrastructure have been described.
