Sposób wykorzystania metanu jako przykład inwestycji proekologicznej w kopalni "Budryk" SA

Problem ujęcia, a następnie wykorzystania metanu pojawił się już na etapie dokumentowania złoża węglowego podczas badań odwiertami. W trakcie wykonywania wyrobisk przygotowawczych stało się już oczywiste, że uruchomienie eksploatacji węgla w partiach o podwyższonej metanonośności będzie wymagało odmetanowania górotworu, jako jednego z najskuteczniejszych sposobów zwalczania zagrożenia w kopalni. W czerwcu 2003 r. uruchomiono stację odmetanowania, zaprojektowaną i wykonaną przez Zakład Odmetanowania Kopalń Sp. z o.o. z Jastrzębia Zdroju. W artykule opisano działalność stacji przejmującej metan i kierującej go do skojarzonej produkcji energii elektrycznej i ciepła.

The problem of capture and then utilisation of methane occurred as early as at the stage of coal deposit's documentation by boreholes drilled from the surface. During driving of preparatory workings it proved evident that commencing of coal winning in section of increased gassiness should require degasification of the strata, as one of the most efficient ways of combating of this hazard in the mine. In June of 2003 degasification station was commenced, designed and constructed by the Mines Degasification Plant Co Ltd in Jastrzębie Zdrój. The article describes the activity of the station capturing the methane and directing it to co-generation of electric energy and heat.
