Miejskie ogrody publiczne - wczoraj i dziś

W pracy poruszono problematykę dotyczącą miejskich ogrodów publicznych i ich genezy. Przedstawiono rodzaje ich kompozycji, rozwiązań funkcjonalnych oraz lokalizacji. Rozważania oparte zostały na znanych przykładach począwszy od założeń występujących w czasach starożytnych (związanych z kulturą, sztuką i sportem), poprzez średniowiecze, renesans, barok, wiek XIX, aż po współczesne rozwiązania. Na przestrzeni wieków rola jaką pełniły ogrody publiczne ulegała przemianom, będąc odpowiedzią na potrzeby społeczności. W pracy postawiono pytania dotyczące funkcji jakie współczesne założenia zielone winny pełnić, i ich znaczenia - w dobie rozwiniętych technik komputerowych - dla układów urbanistycznych.

The paper deals with public city gardens and their origin. Types of garden composition, functional solutions and locations are presented and exemplified with well known arrangements starting from the ancient times (connected with the culture, art and sport), through the Middle Ages, the Renaissance, the Baroque, and 19th century and ending at the recent ones. Within the space of centuries roles of public gardens has been changed as the answer for needs of the community. Questions concerning functions of contemporary garden sites for the urban systems and their meaning at times of high-developed computers techniques are put in this paper.
