The analysis of "stories about the public space in Poznań in the 20th C" allows to ascertain that the development of such space terminated in fact in 1929. The only fully completed concepts were: the Stuebben's post-fortress terrain's buildings and PWK. After that period there appeared realizations of buildings on small areas, which did not, however, broaden the public space of the city center, though the population of its inhabitants has increased three times till today. Results of the city authorities and urbanists. activity in a sphere of shaping the public space in the second half of the 20th C can be compared to war destruction. At present the discussions are being carried out on the subject of improvement of the Poznań public space quality. They are concerned primarily with a reduction of grave consequences of its postwar "modernization".
