Investment cost estimation and calculation of chemical plants with classical and modular approaches

New plant planning methods, as for example module technology, offer the basis for new attempts of the estimation and calculation of investment costs in the early stage of process development. These methods allow one to determine investment costs of multipurpose chemical plants. Differences between cost estimation and cost calculation methods of chemical plants have been discussed.
