Composites are one of the ultramodern materials in aviation constructions. In such applications are important two factors: a very high strength and a low density of these materials. The aircraft's conditions of service often jeopardize composite structures, for example during impact loading. Composites can fail in a wide variety of modes while containing a barely visible impact damage (BVID), which reduces severely the structural integrity of components. Moreover, a low energy impact weakens the physical properties of composite laminates. This paper present the influence on the flexural strength Rg, and vital necessity of repairs after a low energy impact damages.
