W artykule przedstawiono problemy dotyczące zachowania się kamiennych okładzin zewnętrznych w obiektach zabytkowych i we współczesnych budowlach monumentalnych. Na przykładach obiektów Białegostoku podano przyczyny uszkodzeń okładzin i sposoby zabezpieczeń. W końcowej części artykułu podano współczesne metody montażu kamiennych okładzin elewacyjnych.

In the paper there are considered some problems connected with the processes the external stone slabs facing undergo during their exploatation in historical buildings as well as in modern monumental buildings. On the basis of the examples of objects in Bialystok the reasons of their damage and means of its prevention are presented. In the final part of the paper there are introduced contemporary methods of stone slabs facing assembling.
