Z londyńskich archiwów: świadectwa wkładu polskich inżynierów w zwycięstwo aliantów w II wojnie światowej

W archiwach Instytutu Polskiego i Muzeum Gen. W. Sikorskiego znajdują się ogromne ilości dokumentów, które są świadectwem działalności polskich inżynierów i techników w latach II wojny światowej, jak również po jej zakończeniu. Dokumentują one wkład Polaków w techniczne rozwiązania pozwalające aliantom pokonać wroga. Fakty te nie są jednak znane społeczeństwu. Nie są znane techniczne rozwiązania opracowane przez polskich inżynierów, stanowiące o zaopatrzeniu armii. Zwracali na nie uwagę jedynie koledzy ze Stowarzyszenia Technków Polskich w Wielkiej Brytanii. Autor niniejszego artukułu został delegowany przez Zarząd Główny NOT do Londynu, gdzie zapoznał się z materiałami dokumentującymi działalność techniczną Polaków.

In the archives of the Polish Institute and of General W. Sikorski Museum are located enormous amounts of materials, being certificates of the activities of polish engineers and technicians on the years of the Second World War, as well as after its ending. They also document the contribudion od Poles to the technical solutions allowing to the Allies to defeat the enemy. However, the society does not know these facts, as well as the technical solutions developed by polish engineers, essential for the supply of the army. There were only the friends from the Society of Polish Engineers in Great Britain, who have paid attention to this problem. Author of this article was sent by the General Board of NOT to London to make himself acquainted with the documentation concerning the technical activity of Poles.
