Kiedy złom przestaje być odpadem

W dniu 31 marca 2011 r. Parlament Europejski przyjął Rozporządzenie Rady Europy (UE) NR 333/2011 ustanawiające kryteria określające, kiedy pewne rodzaje złomu przestają być odpadami na mocy dyrektywy Parlamentu Europejskiego i Rady 2008/98/WE. Jest to pierwsze rozporządzenie w sprawie zniesienia statusu odpadu dla pewnej grupy odpadów. Dotyczy ono złomu stali i żeliwa oraz złomu aluminium. Planowane jest również analogiczne rozporządzenie dotyczące złomu miedzi.

The European Parliament adopted on March 31 2011 the Regulation of the Council of Europe (EU) No. 333/2011 introducing criteria determining when certain types of wastes are not longer wastes on the strength of the directive of the European Parliament and the Council 2008/98/WE. This is the first Regulation to annul the waste status for certain group of wastes. It concerns steel and cast iron scraps and aluminium scraps. Analogous regulation is planned for copper scraps too.
