Different section classes are included in the proposed, improved advanced analysis of steel member structures, both of the truss type and the frame type, truss braced or unbraced. Basic features of the proposed modelling are summarized. The developed model is adjusted to the computer code ECIDA. The verification exercise is carried out in order to compare the results from the computer program and the equations given explicitly in the eurocode EN 1993-1-1 [2]. The comparison is made for simple cases of a frame element, a truss element and a beam-column element. It indicates that the developed model can accurately predict the strength of the individual element in all cases considered.
