Wpływ niektórych czynników klimatycznych i technicznych na obciążenie dachów śniegiem

The paper deals with the influence of the temperature of the upper layer of ground on the snow amount on it and the ground snow load. Positive temperature leads to the melting of snow and the winter maximum snow load is lower than the resulting from the sum of precipitation. Well insulated flat roofs will be then loaded much more than it would be predicted. Snow and ice loads on the flat roof of the exhibition hall in Chorzów were 1,6 times higher than the ground snow load. It is necessary to verify the annual maxima of snow loads, used in the probabilistic analysis, taking into account the temperature of ground and the sum of precipitation during the whole winter.
